This utility converts line endings in a file from dos-style to unix-style.
I definitely got this code from a book. I believe it is from the Python Cookbook (O'Reily),
so copyright to them (i.e. not mine, never has been mine, etc.) If you don't have Python Cookbook already
go and buy it. It follows the same format at the Perl Cookbook. Excellent idea, great book from cover to cover.
